    @Vinokurov this #artifact is probably coming from the instrument itself, most probably while reading the data from the camera to the file

    #SOHO is in space, in the L1 point where the only thing that we could see crossing in between would be Mercury and Venus. And that's rare.

    @Mjbarrett I suppose we could also get comets on the line of sight, but I'm not aware of any. ISON was cool though!

    Venus is smaller than Earth by a bit, but looks bigger here because it is close to the camera, eclipsing the Sun which is far... I think...
